about

Welcome to our second EP! The opening track is really a foray into classic blues, whereas the remaining two songs feature contrasts in the tone and style of the lead guitar work.

Track Name: Somethin' Ain't Right
[All words & music by David Halliday]

Somethin' ain't right gone bad to the bone
We're at someplace where it's all just dry as dust
There's a look in your eye when you say you're goin' alone
And my nerves are screamin' boom and bust
But I drain my glass dry meet the gaze in your eye
And say babe well that's just fine
It's in the way that you walk the way that you talk
Hell knows somethin' ain't right

Y'know I take these little strolls in the gloom of the night
Down some dead end street off memory lane
And I recollect a time when you were all shy
All innocence and sweetness and light
Smilin' came easy and the good times rolled in
I'd run red lights to get home to you
Now I can't get you on the phone number unknown
Hell knows somethin' ain't right

Now there won't be no saints in heaven prayin' for me
A sinner I am from time to time
So when my vices come a-callin' and you catch my morals fallin'
Remember I am just a man

Now somethin' ain't right got snapped at once more
Got all chewed up and spat out on the floor
Evenin' time's a killin' time the couch a no-man's-land
Just starin' out the god-damn TV
I scrape around for pleasantries sweet nothin's in your ear
But the air then turns a mighty shade of blue
There's no use denyin' that the joker's in town
Hell knows somethin' ain't right
Track Name: Sign From Above
[All words and music by David Halliday]

Oh I see electric dreams in the sky
I hear the voice of fortune
The winds are changing the tides are turning
The gods are for me my time is rising
Oh, I see a vision form in the sky
I know my hopes are rescued
The storm's receding the clouds are breaking
It's what I'll take as a sign from above

Oh the ashes stir with hope once again
The phoenix has awoken
My resurrection a transformation
My self-revival a revelation
Oh, the dying embers burst into flame
And send the shadows fleeing
My world's transforming with new beginnings
It's what I'll take as a sign from above

Oh, familiar faces trouble my dreams
All those who scoffed and mocked me
Their condescension contempt and laughter
With faithless words they obscured my judgement
Now at last I've turned my back on despair
I see your face before me
My northern starlight a guide through darkness
It's what I'll take as a sign from above
Track Name: Fallen From Grace
[All words and music by David Halliday]

The storm clouds have gathered
And the sun's said farewell
In the distance a nightingale sings
Sighing and seething
Through the sentinel trees
The wind rises up to a scream
Where did you go to when you left us that night
When we woke to the shadows when we needed you there
What was it that took you away
Far so far away
Where did you go to when you left us that night
When we cried to the darkness when we called out your name

Your eyes say it all
Your words are poison
And it's written on your face
That you've fallen from grace
As the stars in the heavens look down

Winter has crushed us
In its cold iron hand
The farmlands lie barren and bleak
Repentance and promises
Filled the freezing night air
Seduction and sorrow in your voice
Where did you go to when you left us that night
When we woke to the shadows when we needed you there
Who was it that stole you away
Far so far away
Where did you go to when you left us that night
When we cried to the darkness when we called out your name

Your eyes say it all
Your words are poison
And it's written on your face
That you've fallen from grace
As the stars in the heavens look down
